Welcome to The Forest Vet, a veterinary practice specialising in high quality
healthcare for small animals. Located in Maresfield, close to Uckfield in East
Sussex, the practice has been purpose built to achieve the most up to date and
modern approach to Veterinary work for pets including separate dog and cat
wards, two surgical suites, digital x-ray and blood machines that will give results
in just 7 minutes so you can enjoy a cup of tea on the sofa in reception and then
discuss results with the Vet immediately afterwards.
The practice was set up by Rachael, our Veterinary Surgeon, to incorporate all
the aspects of patient care important to her own pets – her dogs, Cecil and
Bertie, and cat Lady Fu-Fu. We understand how frightening it can be when a
member of your family falls ill and we aim to make the whole process of
diagnosis and treatment as stress-free as possible.
Our main focus at The Forest Vet is customer care. We have a very personable
and friendly team that will treat you and your pets as members of the family. We
pride ourselves on going the extra mile to make sure we achieve excellence in
clinical practice. Our half hour consultations allow us to form bonds with our
clients and patient and allow time for the animals to settle before their clinical
examination.
We value the importance of nursing care, with each in patient having their own
individual nurse looking after them for the day so they get to know them. The
practice was designed to improve communication between the veterinary team
and clients. Each new registration gets a free welcome pack full of information
about common illnesses, we host client evening talks, and have extra long
consults. Every patient is unique and individual, so this time allows us to tailor
make treatment plans with the owners.
One of the reasons Rachael wanted to set up her own practice was to encourage
young people to establish a career for themselves. As a registered training
practice we actively encourage continued learning for all our team members so
that we continue to grow and keep up to date with the industry. We invest a lot of
money in continued professional development. Rachael is currently doing a
certificate in small animal surgery which will allow more advanced surgical
procedures to be performed in first opinion practice, where your pet will feel more
comfortable.
We are proud to be an RCVS Accredited Practice, which means that we meet
certain standards and are regularly assessed to ensure we maintain the highest
standards of veterinary care for peace of mind for animal owners.”
